That handsome red face you see
above is my very first
English Cocker Spaniel, “Champ”. Champ came to our family in
December of 1991 and is the cornerstone and foundation of what has
become Golden Gait English Cocker Spaniels. If you'd like to
read more about how Champ "converted me" from pet owner to show
breeder/exhibitor, go to the "About Us" page.
We lost Champ on August 24, 2006, just a week shy of 15 years old.
He lived a long, healthy, and happy life. While no dog is perfect, my aim and goal
as I carry on with future generations is to strive to produce beautiful English
Cockers with the same sound mind, sound body, and gentle spirit that my best
buddy Champ possessed. We miss you sweet Champy.
We hope you enjoy your
visit here while admiring all of Champ's beautiful relatives!!
“The English Cocker is merry and affectionate, of equable
disposition, neither sluggish nor hyperactive, a willing worker and a
faithful and engaging companion.” (Official Standard for the English Cocker
Spaniel – October 1988)
